I shouldn't be so tired at 10:00 at night, especially given the day I've had, but I am. I shouldn't be tired because I slept enough last night and, in the last day and a half, have done very little work related. I have, though, had absolutely lovely days.
Yesterday wasn't so much a lovely day as a lovely evening. Beej and I went out to dinner at Three Chimneys (tavern side) with two friends who we like very much but don't get to see very often. Then they came back to our place, I made popcorn, and we watched the De La Hoya v. Mayweather fight. The fight was fine (I was really pulling for Oscar, but it didn't work out), but talking with them for a few hours reminded me just how much I like and miss them.
Today, Beej and I slept late, took a walk, took a nap, watched t.v., had dinner, and watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer -- the campy deliciously awful movie. It felt completely decadent.
Tomorrow I have optional conferences all day, need to read a friend's exam answers in order to "prep" him for his oral defense, and might be babysitting for a half an hour. On Tuesday I need to spend the whole day working on program assessment stuff. I get final projects on Wednesday, but might spend all of Wednesday on program assessment as well, saving the grading bonanza until Thursday. I'm basically running full throttle until mid June, so the day to just do absolutely nothing productive with my husband was much needed and greatly appreciated.
