In a word: CRAZY. Another? Hectic. A third: Really effing busy.
The whole "free time" idea seems to have gone out the window. My dvr is bursting with t.v. shows I haven't been able to watch. I've seen the first disc of Twin Peaks, but that's it. I haven't been able to watch any more. I'm three episodes back on Heroes (which means I haven't seen a single episode from this season yet). Part of my lack of t.v. watching is, to be fair, because I've been reading a bit. I've been reading the Twilight saga/series by Stephanie Meyer. There's a big children's lit program here and lots of people have read this series, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I really liked the first book, but they went downhill from there. Anyway, I'm almost done with the fourth book, so I've been reading that for an hour before bed instead of watching t.v.
So I guess I do have an hour before bed that I sort of protect.
But right now? It's not that hour. So I have to get back to work. What do I have to do today? Well, since you asked:
1. Course prep for the week (I'm a little behind due to marathon grading)
2. Planning the next unit for one class
3. A classroom observation report
4. A file review report
5. Grade 8 revisions (might not get through that today)
6. Figure out what I'm reading on Friday for Banned Books week (I'm leaning toward Junie B. Jones, because it's fun to read aloud, but I also feel a bit like I should read Song of Solomon or One Hundred Years of Solitude)
7. Update my c.v. for my reappointment file (reappointment? You've only been there for six weeks. Yep, that's the way it works)
8. Teach two classes
Yep, that should keep me busy enough for the day. I slept about four hours last night, so I'm sure I'll be at the TOP of my game.

Good gravy.
Yeah, there's a lot. Looking back on that post, though, I think, eh, that's not so bad. I did NOT get to the revision grading, though. I'm going to try to do some of that tonight.
