The Year in Review

I got this off of Billie's blog. I'm curious to see how it works out, given the change of direction of this blog. The idea is to go through the blog over the past year and post the first sentence of the first entry of each month.

January 2008: Well campers, I'm back from Chicago

February 2008: I suppose it was inevitable.

March 2008: Especially for you academics out there, this might seem silly, but Brett Favre has been the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers since I was 15.

April 2008: As anybody who works with me knows, I spend a good portion of most of my days in the library graduate carrels.

May 2008: Got this from Meagan. It makes me sad and furious at the same time [video embedded in post]

June 2008: Wow, I've really been a blogger slacker lately.

July 2008: In theory, this blog was about writing my dissertation.

August 2008: I love the Olympics.

September 2008: Is it possible for those little Tide "pens" to go bad?

October 2008: My Thursday evenings are usually my long nights on campus, as some of you know.

November 2008: i. am. nervous. [posted Nov. 4th]

December 2008: As I sit here, eyes literally aching from all the reading and grading I've done today, I'm struck by the fact that one year ago I was doing phone interviews and preparing for MLA in Chicago.

Reflection? I need to write more interesting blog posts. More later.
