Practice cooking Thai food. [So far, my Thai spicy green bean stir fry was delish, but my brown stir fry sauce was not. Going to try that again, plus Pad Kraw Pow is up next. Update update: Pad Kraw Pow was really good.]- I'd also like to try making my own pasta, but I'm not yet willing to buy a pasta maker, so we'll see. I have a recipe/technique for doing it without the pasta maker, but we'll see how ambitious I feel.

- Work on Loki's barking. {slowly but surely]
- Work on Tulla's recall.
- Work on Tulla's barking when she's with Loki. (That Loki, such a bad influence.)
- Work on walking the dogs together (wow have I ever not mastered that)

There's a West Wing episode where Leo tells Bartlett, "You're going to open your mouth and lift houses off the ground. Whole houses, clear off the ground." This blog used to be about writing a dissertation -- although I'm not sure it was ever really about that. But now it's about my life as a brand new assistant professor, still hoping to lift whole houses off the ground. It's academy meets Ab.
