There's a West Wing episode where Leo tells Bartlett, "You're going to open your mouth and lift houses off the ground. Whole houses, clear off the ground." This blog used to be about writing a dissertation -- although I'm not sure it was ever really about that. But now it's about my life as a brand new assistant professor, still hoping to lift whole houses off the ground. It's academy meets Ab.

Congratulations!
Congratulations to TJ and Jess who welcomed Alison Elisabeth to their family yesterday. Very lucky little girl to have these two amazing people as parents.
