Well, spring break is winding down my friends. And what have I done with my time? Well, I finished the chapter section that I was working on, I graded one set of reader responses and one set of analyses and I'm half way through another set of reader responses. I did some reading, did some work on the chapter I'm writing with Paul, aaaaaaaaaaand i got sick. I don't know if it was something I ate or just a stomach bug, but it was double plus ungood. And a major stalling point in my work. I'm on the mend today -- not 100% for sure, but definitely feeling better. Hopefully I'll be back to my old self tomorrow. I still have half a set of reader responses to grade, my CCCC presentation to write, and some work to do on the Paul chapter. I was supposed to meet with a friend to work on a project over break too, but I just don't think I'm going to have time.
Reading through my students most recent reader responses, it's clear I'm going to have to do some more work on Krista Ratcliffe's rhetorical listening and cultural logics. They're giving it the old college try (appropriately enough), but they're not quite getting it yet. That's my bad, though, not theirs. They only got a brief intro to it before having to write the low-stakes response, but I need to make sure they understand it better before they write their major project and that's coming up quickly. I'll have to make sure I do that before I leave for NY.
I also finally scheduled some physical therapy for my hip injury. That starts when I get back from NY. Thirty year olds shouldn't have physical therapy for their hip injuries, by the way. The place I'm going is right next to my favorite place to eat in town (shout out to Wings Your Way here) so that might be problematic for me.
I'm clearly tired. I'm going to finish watching What Not to Wear and go to bed. A more interesting and upbeat post to come, I'm sure.
