Spring Break!

As you might have guessed from the title of this post, it's SPRING BREAK!!

SPRING BREAK!!! Wooooooooooooooo!

Okay, so spring break ain't quite what it used to be. I'm not going anywhere (generally, in college, my boyfriend and I went to Marquette, MI for spring break. Although we were living in northern Wisconsin, heading to Marquette meant that we were actually going into an even COLDER climate for the week), and it's not so much a "break" from work as it is permission to do work in my pajamas. And to sleep in a bit.

But really, I'm not yet on break. "Break" (read: marathon grading + revising Paul chapter + "writing" CCCC presentation) starts on Monday afternoon. I have a dental appointment Monday afternoon, so I might actually take the evening totally off. But on Tuesday it'll be back to work. Tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday, though, are full-steam ahead captain. I've a bunch of revising that I have to get done by Monday morning, so that's what this weekend is going to be all about. But, I've got the makings for a good homemade pizza, I just made a batch of the best hot chocolate ever, and I'm feeling pretty ready to tackle this thing.

So, not quite spring break, but still . . . SPRING BREAK!!!!!

(I like the thing on livejournal where you let people know what you're listening to and I always mean to just include it in my blog, but forget. Let's see if I can remember with some consistency from now on.)

I totally forgot it was spring break. Why is campus empty? I thought. Maybe everyone slept in today. Maybe everyone is taking the afternoon off to have a cup of coffee.

Good luck on all your stuff!

Isn't that such the graduate student response to spring break? It's like you wake up one morning and the undergrads are gone. Just gone. It's a little creepy at first, right? I think it's probably more noticeable when you're (still) teaching because you -- or I -- get a week to focus on my own work. I love that.

Revising is going pretty well. I'm at the point, though, where I'm not sure I've got much more in me. Today is the last day of this particular project (at least for a bit) so I'm pushing through.

Hope all your work is going well too!
