Radio off

Well, I'm scheduled for back surgery on Tuesday so I probably won't be writing much here for at least a week or two. We'll see when I can get back to typing. Maybe sooner, maybe later. I'll keep you as posted as I can be.

I do want to say this: The UNH conference this past weekend, though quite a bit of work for a department with ONE PROFESSOR, went pretty well. I got to chat quite a bit with Ellen Cushman (who I love) and saw a bunch of alumni who I always love chatting with: Mike, Bronwyn, Christina, Kate, Michelle, and Paul were all there. The white chocolate amaretto cheesecake turned out nicely, as did the sesame glazed noodles (thanks, Shelley, for the recipe). Rui made pineapple rice with shrimp -- so good -- and Mike, Jeff, and Jim turned it out as usual. Some good cooks in this program. Saw some good panels and great keynotes. Generally, a good time. I'm happy to have had the chance to see and chat with everyone before the big 'ole surgery. So thanks to all for that.
