Or play Scramble on facebook.
But I digress.
About two or three days a week, there is a guy who sits in one of the carrels NOT in this room. He's about ten yards outside the door. And everyday that he is here in the library, for the majority of the time that he's here, he has his computer on, some sort of game going, and he puts his head on the "desk" or down on his chest and he sleeps.
And snores like a drunken gorilla. I can HEAR HIM THROUGH THE DOOR.
For some reason, this angers me. I suppose it's because he disrupts the people who are actually studying around him, and because there are better places, even in the library, to sleep. And because there's a young woman who, almost everyday, sets up camp at a carrel about ten yards from him. She's there first, she's there almost everyday, and she's clearly studying something very complicated that involves charts, math, sticky tabs. And this guy, this guy, just sits there snoring as loudly as I've heard anyone snore. I know she could move, and sometimes she does, but she shouldn't HAVE to.
Today I've decided that I need to try to get rid of some of this anger toward him (and yes, people have tried waking him up). So today I have decided that he's part of some sort of sleep study. And somehow that helps a little.
