My defense is in a little less than two weeks, so I've been trying to prepare for that, except I have NO idea how to prepare for that, really. My sister and her husband are coming to visit on Thursday and I'm really excited. She's never been here and lobster is her favorite food. Should be excellent fun. They're only here a few days, unfortunately, but it should be nice.
In other news, I think my husband and I found a place to live in Kansas, so that's both good and terrifyingly real. Don't get me wrong, very very VERY excited about the new job and the new department, but I am the vice-president of the Children Against Change Society in my family. Change is difficult for me. Even if it's positive change. And there are people here who it might gut me to leave.
But, on a happier note, Biz is coming to town tomorrow night and we're going to (wait for it) . . . SUSHI!!!! Hooray sushi!!!! I'm thinking the spicy live scallop maki, some sake sushi, and Nicola says there are a few new rolls, so I'll see what's new on the menu and get at least one more roll. Maybe split a Red Sox maki with Biz. Drooling already.

Hey Abby,
Just checking in, and I wanted to wish you all the best on your defense. My best advise is to read through what you can of your dis, and then just know that you know your study better than anyone else in the room. You'll be wonderful!
Enjoy the sushi and the lobstah, too!
